Meesho image requirements for clothing: a checklist before you upload

By the Vastra Studio team · Updated

Meesho sets its image rules inside the Supplier Panel, and they can change, so read the current rules there before you upload. In practice, clothing photos need to show the real product clearly: sharp, true colour, the whole garment, and no stray logos, watermarks or text on the image.

Read the rules where Meesho publishes them

Meesho shows its catalogue image guidelines to suppliers inside the Supplier Panel. We could not open that panel while writing this page, so we do not quote exact numbers (pixel size, file size, number of images) here. Numbers quoted on other blogs disagree with each other, so open the panel, find the image guidelines for your category, and note them down once. Come back to this page for the checklist.

A practical checklist for clothing photos

This is our own checklist from testing clothing photos, not a copy of Meesho's rules. If a line here conflicts with the panel, follow the panel.

CheckWhy it matters
First image shows the product you actually sell, clearlyIt is the photo buyers see in search results
Colour matches the real fabricColour mismatch is a common reason for returns
Whole garment visible, nothing cut offBuyers want to see length, hem and border
Sharp, well lit, not stretched or squashedBlurry or distorted photos look untrustworthy
No watermark, another seller's logo, phone number or price text on the photoThese are the first things a quality check looks for; confirm the exact rule in the panel
Every piece in the photo is included in the set you sellAn extra dupatta or belt that you do not ship invites complaints
Image size and count match the panel's current limitsLimits change; read them in the panel

5 mistakes that waste an upload

  1. Using a supplier's or competitor's photo with their logo. Shoot your own or remove branding properly.
  2. Screenshots. They add borders and compression. Upload the original photo file.
  3. Over-edited colour. Filters change the shade and cause returns.
  4. Cropped garment. A kurti without its hem tells the buyer less than the one next to it.
  5. Different garment in model photo and product. The photo must match what ships.

Where model photos fit

A flat photo shows the print but not the fall. A model photo shows how the garment is worn. If you make model photos with an AI tool such as Vastra Studio, run them through the same checklist, and read whether AI model photos are allowed on marketplaces. Start with a good flat photo so the neckline and print stay right.

For resizing and quick edits on your phone photos, see the free tools on MeeShip. For a kurti model photo, see kurti model photos with AI.

What we have not verified

We have not read Meesho's current image rules inside the Supplier Panel. Any number you see for pixel size, file size or image count on this page would be unverified, which is why none is given.

Questions

What image size does Meesho need for clothing?
Meesho publishes the current size and count inside the Supplier Panel. We could not read it for this page, and third-party blogs disagree, so check the panel for your category.
Can I upload a photo with a watermark or logo?
Avoid it. Watermarks, other sellers' logos and contact details on the image are the most commonly mentioned reason for rejection, but confirm the exact rule in your Supplier Panel.
Are model photos better than flat photos on Meesho?
A model photo shows the fit and fall, a flat photo shows the print. Many sellers use both. Check any model photo against the real garment before you upload.
Do I need a white background?
Rules differ by category and can change. A plain, clean background is the safe choice; confirm the requirement for your category in the panel.
Does Meesho allow AI model photos?
We could not find a published Meesho policy on AI images. See our post on whether AI model photos are allowed, and check with Meesho seller support.
